The colouring of the blanket looks fabulous, particularly the multicoloured fringe around the edges. Seems to be comfortable, and the size is perfect for a single bed (or simpley to curl up in on the couch).

The item looks great in the picture but when I opened up the box and pulled it out...it was a whole different story. Rough material really only good for hanging on the wall.

I wanted to use it as a blanket but it is far to rough of a material...Images do look good after a few beers as long as you stand about ten feet away other than that its blurry up close four feet and closer.

I've always loved Tolkien's maps, so getting to have one on a throw is pretty sweet. :) I just wish it was the full map. But it's a really nice throw and I have definitely cuddled up in it a few times since receiving it. Looks so nice laid out on my bed!

After reading the other reviews I purchased this item. But when I inspected the throw I was disappointed no one mentioned that the edges are not stitched or secured in any way. It's a woven item and you can unweave it by simply pulling on the last thread and it will slide right out. Then the next one, and so on until you have a pile of strings. Before I wash it I will get out my sewing machine and sew around all the edges inside the fringe so it won't all come apart in the wash. The polyester it's made from is weird too. It feels more like plastic. I am not impressed and cannot recommend this blanket to anyone who is actually going to use and wash it.

Awesome product! I love the Middle Earth Map so getting to decorate with a blanket that looks like it is great! The only way I would like it more would be if it was larger so that I could cover my bed with it. As it is, it works great to cover my chair or to throw on when I'm watching a movie.

Fantastic gift for a huge fan of all things Tolkien. The thickness was a surprise and it is of high quality, the perfect interest piece for someone who loves to talk about LOTR or the Hobbit.

The Middle Earth Throw is awesome. However, it's missing half the map such as Mordor and Mirkwood. It cuts off at the Misty Mountains and pretty much Dunland. Would have liked to have the entire map even if it meant having a bigger throw. It's not as soft or warm as we thought it would be.

This was given as a Christmas gift to my son, who is an avid fan of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings- in books and film. He was extremely excited to receive this blanket!! He plans on hanging it in his room when he gets the proper rug hanger. He thinks it is one of the best gifts he received!!
