The necklace works well for many occasions. As far as looks goo its perfect. its made of sterling which is normal easy to polish. Though if you do have to polish it I suggest taking it a professional. I have had silver-smithing classes and worked with making and polishing jewelry proficiently and i still have trouble cleaning it. I've already knocked off one stone. you can see in the images they are not set in the metal, but rather attached by glue or some type of epoxy. The backs are painted with a metallic coating to make them shine like set stones. They also are likely glass, did not come with any marking for cz, swartzky or any type of crystal. However, for the cost it is worth it. if they were real stones that would be an extra $50-100 and if they were set much more. As a person that makes and studies jewelry making the quality fits the price and it is a great piece of costume jewelry.

I haven't taken it off for months, it means a lot to me, it's really beautiful and I've received many compliments.
However one of the stones recently fell. Heart breaking. I took it off.
Oh and the thing that holds the string to the Evenstar fell at the very beginning.
It doesn't look exactly like the one in the film either, neither does it fit the photo.

So, I love wearing this thing, it was a gift from my boyfriend when we were still in high school. However, anyone who buys one should know it doesn't take much for the stones to fall out.

I'm actually on my second one (they kindly replaced the first one) but I have still had a few fall out. Thankfully, I found the stones and was able to glue them back in (make sure you use a high-quality adhesive like Araldite to make the repair. Be careful and be neat or you'll ruin the shine.
